Good afternoon, folks! Let's dive into what's happening with the weather across our counties today. Starting with Wayne County, it's mostly sunny and pretty warm, sitting at 86 degrees. However, please be aware there's an Air Quality Alert in effect right now. Smoke from Canadian wildfires is drifting our way, so avoid strenuous outdoor activities if you can, especially if you have heart or respiratory issues. We're also under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 1:30 PM. Watch out for strong winds up to 60 mph – they could cause some damage, so it's best to stay safe indoors. Over in Oakland and Macomb counties, it's sunny with temperatures in the low 80s. They, too, are under the Air Quality Alert, meaning smoke and other particulates are affecting the air. If you're sensitive to these pollutants, take it easy. Oakland also has some storms moving through, so keep an eye on the sky. Monroe County is sunny at 86 degrees but also dealing with a mix of strong thunderstorms. Wind gusts could reach up to 50 mph, so fasten down any loose outdoor gear. Again, that ongoing air quality issue persists, so stay indoors if you can. Washtenaw is seeing some isolated showers and storms with a temperature of 84 degrees. Please take note of the Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect until 1:30 PM. Like elsewhere, there’s smoke impacting air quality here, so take it easy with outdoor activities. Moving on to Livingston, it's a mix of scattered showers and storms and feeling a bit muggy at 84 degrees. Despite the weather, there's no active thunderstorm alert right now, but do keep in mind the air quality concerns. Finally, in St. Clair, it's mostly sunny at 83 degrees, and while you’ve got clearer skies compared to others, you're still under the Air Quality Alert through Monday. Bottom line: whether you’re dealing with storms or poor air quality from the wildfire smoke, it’s a good day to stay updated and take necessary precautions. Stay safe and enjoy your afternoon!
Good afternoon, folks! Let's dive into what's happening with the weather across our counties. In Wayne County, we’re looking at a chance of showers and maybe even a thunderstorm or two this afternoon. It's a toasty 88 degrees, so keep cool if you can. Heads up though, there's an air quality alert in effect, so you might want to take it easy outdoors, especially if you’ve got asthma or other respiratory concerns. In Oakland County, similar weather is expected with a muggy 86 degrees and a special note about a thunderstorm near Brighton, moving east at about 15 mph with gusty winds. It could toss around unsecured stuff, so keep an eye on that. Like Wayne, Oakland's also under an air quality alert. Macomb County might see some rain showers today as well, with temps at around 84 degrees. And just like Wayne and Oakland, Macomb's under the same air quality advisory. Essentially, the advice is to stay indoors if you’ve got any respiratory issues. Moving to Monroe County—here we also have a chance of showers and storms with a temperature of 85 degrees. There's an air quality alert here too, so be cautious if you’ve got sensitive breathing. Washtenaw’s weather is lining up with the others—look for chances of showers and storms, and it’s 86 degrees right now. There’s a storm tracking near Brighton, so stay safe and maybe hang out inside if you’re near there. And yep, you guessed it, there’s an air quality alert here as well. In Livingston County, we're also expecting storms, with temperatures around 86 degrees. Again, watch for those storms coming through, and the air quality alert means it’s a good idea to minimize time outside if you’re in a sensitive group. Finally, in St. Clair, it's mostly sunny with a nice 83 degrees. But don't let the sunshine fool you—there’s an air quality alert here too, so do take care. In terms of radar, there's a prominent line of storms coming in from the west, particularly intense around Howell and Putnam. They’re moving eastward, heading towards Ann Arbor and the Detroit metro area. So, if you’re in that path, be ready for some heavy rain and winds. That’s the weather scoop for now. Keep an ear out for updates as conditions can change quickly. Stay safe and enjoy your day!
